Rainier (Adopted)

8/15:24:  Today is the best day of my life and I’m going home with Barb and Lou.  They drove all the way to the rescue just to meet me and take me home.  I was a good boy all the way and we all took a nap when we got home.  Can I tell you they love me already and I am a member of the family now.  I am getting so many pets and butt scratches, and I love it all.  It sure was worth waiting for the Mitas to take me home and thanks to all that helped to make this possible for me.

6/16/24:  I have learned so many things here at the rescue and doing great with my training.  They can no longer call me Fluffy because the groomer brushed out all my undercoat.  I have become the sweetest guy that enjoys being hugged and petted.  I have also learned that hands do not always have treats in them and doing well with the mouthing.  I don’t have an aggressive bone in my body but like to chase the cats when they run.

4/18/24:  I went for my neuter and that is enough surgery for me.  I am learning all kinds of things here and at my age don’t have much of an attention span.  We are working mostly to learn that mouthing hands is inappropriate.  So it looks like I am ready for my new home if you are looking for a sweet, young man.

3/5/24:  A little update on me.  Went to the vet for my neuter and when getting ready for my surgery they found a staph infection on my belly.  Now I have to wait until it clears to be neutered.

2/4/24:  I am a 1 year old collie fellow at 60 pounds.  I was advertised on the internet and they let me come to the rescue.  When I was born my nostrils were partially closed so at 11 weeks I had surgery to open them.  So if my nose looks a bit odd that is why.  When I arrived my coat was really matted and some of it had to be shaved.  I am a sweet, loving fellow and having no problem with the housetraining.  I am also crate trained and learning basic commands and leash walking.  I am great with the other dogs and ok with the cats but I do like to chase them.  Please check back to see how I am doing and what is next for my medical needs.

Thank you Kathy Lindsey, Vincent Binek, Thomas McFall, Valerie Rothbauer, Joel Kane and Lizabeth Meyer for helping with my medical needs.

Shaday (Adopted)

3/22/24:  I have joined the Gates Family and they have a lot of experience with dogs who need a little, extra understanding.  I am enclosing a picture of me and my new sister Sadie meeting and we are going to be great friends.  I have pretty much quit going in circles and it is just a coping mechanism for when I am stressed.  I am so lucky to have found this great home and it is just perfect for me.

3/5/24:  Well I went into heat so will have to wait a little on that spay.  As you can imagine I am driving the boys crazy.  I have no problem with the housetraining as long as you get me out when I start circling.  I do not need a crate and like a doggie bed.  Doing great going on walks and lose leash walking.

2/27/24:  I am a 4 ½ petite little girl at 40 pounds.  I am at the rescue because my owner was downsizing.  I have been to the beauty shop for a grooming and will be going soon for my spay soon.  I am great with the other dogs and don’t mind the cats.  My only desire is to be next to you and gets lots of petting.  I have a very gentle nature and learning basic commands here.  I do not need a crate and will go in circles when I need to potty.  Sometimes I circle when stressed and sometimes I just circle for no reason.  It helps to distract me or let me be close to you.  At the rescue they are not sure why I do this and I have no symptoms of it being neurological. I would like a quiet home where there is a lot of love to give.

Thank you Joel Kane for helping with my medical cost.

Blaze (Adopted)

3/15/24:  When James came to the rescue he met both me and Sasha.  After taking Sasha home mom and him decided he should come back and adopt me also.  She was so happy to see me that she let me have her favorite spot on the couch.  We are going to have such a great life here with the Pifer’s.

3/5/24:  Will you just look at me after my bath and brushing.  I feel so much better and know I am beautiful.  Went to the vet for my neuter so I am now ready for my new home.  I showed them this week that I can pick that other ear up when I want to.  Doing great with my basic commands and do well on the leash.  I am housetrained and crate trained but I don’t need that crate.

2/18/24:  I am a 7 year old fellow in rescue because my person could no longer keep me.  I am a sweet, quiet kind of fellow at about 68 pounds.  This week I will be going for a good grooming to get all these matts out and then I will be neutered.

Thank you Susan Veld for helping with my medical needs.
